Information you keep in The Cat Box
The Cat Box is developed by Skyler Lauren to help breeders organize their cattery records. This policy covers the app and this website.
The app stores the information you enter or import: cat and kitten details, breeding and animal-health records, photos, videos, documents, notes, tasks, and cattery settings. Family and business-contact records may include names, contact details, preferences, appointments, and payment or deposit records. These payment records are your bookkeeping entries; they are separate from Apple’s processing of app purchases.
Only enter information you have permission to keep. Take particular care with other people’s contact details and documents.
Device storage and iCloud
Your breeder records are stored on your device. When iCloud is available and enabled for the app, Apple’s iCloud services synchronize supported records and attachments across your devices. The Cat Box does not require a separate developer-operated account.
The app uses your iCloud account’s private storage for this sync. Your ordinary breeder records are not sent to a developer-operated database. Apple operates iCloud and processes information under its privacy policy.
Sync depends on your device settings, connectivity, available storage, and Apple’s services. Turning off iCloud access does not, by itself, delete copies already stored in iCloud or on other devices.
Permissions you control
Features may ask for access to your camera, microphone, selected photos, or files so you can capture or attach content. Access is used for the feature you choose. You can manage available permissions in iOS Settings; declining a permission may prevent that feature from working.
When you choose to call, text, email, or open a web link, the destination app or service handles that action and its own privacy practices apply.
Purchases and service information
Apple processes subscriptions and other in-app purchases. The app receives purchase and subscription information from Apple to verify access, restore purchases, and handle renewal, expiration, refunds, and billing grace. We do not receive your payment-card details from Apple.
The current app does not include advertising networks or third-party behavioral analytics. We do not sell your breeder records or use them for targeted advertising. Apple may provide developers with App Store reports or diagnostics according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies.
Website visits and support
This website does not use advertising cookies or analytics scripts. A web host may process ordinary request information, such as an IP address, browser information, requested page, and request time, to serve and protect the site.
If you contact us, we receive the information you send and use it to respond and investigate your request. Please avoid sending complete cattery backups or other people’s personal details unless they are needed to resolve the issue. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to handle the request, related follow-up, or applicable legal obligations.
Access, retention, and deletion
You can review and edit records in the app and export a manual backup from Settings. Use the app’s delete controls to remove records and attachments you no longer need. Deletions may synchronize to your other devices through iCloud.
Records remain until you delete them or replace the app’s data through a backup import. Canceling a subscription does not delete your records. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily remove iCloud data, device backups, exported files, or copies shared with others. Manage those copies separately through Apple’s settings, the storage service, or the recipient.
We cannot directly remove records held only on your device or in your private iCloud storage. For personal information you have sent to us, contact us to request access, correction, or deletion. The rights available to you depend on where you live; we may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Changes and contact
The Cat Box is intended for breeder recordkeeping and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us, please contact us.
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel, such as the app or this website.
For privacy questions or requests, email support@thecatbox.app. The developer responsible for The Cat Box is Skyler Lauren.
