About these terms

The Cat Box is developed by Skyler Lauren. It provides tools for organizing breeder records, including cats, litters, families, media, documents, and planning.

Your license to the iOS app is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement, unless a different license is expressly supplied with the app. This page explains The Cat Box’s service and subscription terms; it does not replace that license. Apple’s applicable purchase terms and your mandatory consumer rights also apply.

Your records and responsibilities

You retain your rights in the content you enter or import. You are responsible for its accuracy and for having permission to store and share it, including personal information about families and contacts.

Use the app lawfully. Do not use it to distribute unlawful content, misuse another person’s information, or interfere with the app or the services it relies on.

The Cat Box is a recordkeeping tool. Health records, dates, reminders, and calculations do not replace veterinary advice, professional judgment, or your own checks. Recording a deposit or payment does not process a financial transaction or guarantee a buyer’s payment.

Free and Pro access

Free includes limited creation and editing. The app explains the applicable allowances and shows your usage. Pro provides unlimited creation and editing within the app’s supported record types; device storage, iCloud capacity, and technical limits still apply.

Pro Monthly and Pro Annual provide the same Pro features for different billing periods. Monthly is billed each month; annual is billed for a full year upfront. The purchase sheet displays the applicable price, currency, billing period, and any offer before you confirm.

Billing, renewal, and cancellation

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple and charged to your Apple Account. They renew automatically unless you cancel before renewal. Manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple subscription settings or the app’s Manage Subscription control. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription.

After cancellation, access normally continues until the paid period ends. A refund, revocation, or another change confirmed by Apple can affect when access ends. If a renewal has a billing issue, an eligible billing grace period may temporarily preserve Pro while Apple attempts to recover payment.

Use Restore Purchases in the app to check purchases associated with your Apple Account. Refund requests are handled through Apple at Report a Problem, subject to Apple’s process and applicable law.

What happens when Pro ends

When Pro access ends, the app applies Free allowances again. Records beyond those allowances remain view only. Your existing records remain available to read and share; canceling does not itself delete or hide your data. Sync and manual backup features remain available on Free.

The app identifies which records can be edited under Free. Renewing Pro restores unlimited creation and editing. Keep separate backups of important information regardless of your plan.

Backups and connected services

iCloud sync and purchases depend on Apple’s services. Sharing, external links, email, and messages may involve other services and their terms. Availability can be affected by connectivity, account settings, storage limits, and service interruptions.

Check exports before relying on them. Importing a whole-cattery backup replaces the app’s current data through the confirmation flow. Exported backup files are not encrypted by The Cat Box; protect them appropriately and retain copies you need.

Updates and your rights

We may update the app and these terms as features or requirements change. This page will show the latest revision date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel. Apple’s rules and applicable law govern any subscription price changes or consent requirements.

Warranty, liability, and license provisions are covered by the applicable app license. Nothing on this page excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

Read our Privacy Policy for information about storage, sharing, and your choices.
